A little attention to storing and cleaning your toys properly will help them to last longer,
and keep them clean and free of bacteria! It will also help maintain the color and shape of
your toys as well as prevent nicks and cuts in them.

Here are a few helpful recommendations on keeping your toys clean!

Storing your Sex Toys
When considering a place to store your toys, think carefully. Many toys are used within the body, which is not a place to be putting dirt and bacteria! Jelly toys are particularly bad for attracting dust, so be sure that the location you choose is clean.
Toys should be wrapped separately in clean cloths to prevent any transfer of bacteria that may have slipped through cleaning, as well you should place all toys lying as flat as possible when storing them. Throwing all of your toys together in one box or drawer, isn’t the best idea either. When toys are left for long periods of time to rub on one another the latex may begin to disintegrate and the jelly toys tend to melt into one another, another good reason to wrap them in separate clean clothes. Washing your toys again before use is also a good habit to get into.

If you are storing toys that have battery compartments, you should always remove the batteries, (also when cleaning these particular toys) to prevent corrosion. Batteries can leak and ruin the internal workings of your toy. A little corrosion can be removed with a toothbrush or even a cotton swab, and a little baking soda, then apply a VERY small amount of Vaseline to the corroded part to prevent further damage. Removing your batteries while your toys are not in use will also prolong the life of your batteries.

Also make sure when you put your toys away that there are no remaining soapsuds on the toys, as this may damage your toy while it is in storage. Always store your toys in a cool dry place, not in your bathroom or anywhere it may be damp in your home, as this will be exposing your toys to constant moisture, which can lead to it decaying and disintegrating. For these same reasons make sure your toys are completely dry before storing them.

When storing your “skin” toys, it is a good idea to store them with some cornstarch! It will help to preserve their soft, skin like feeling. Without the cornstarch after time they start to loose their soft feel and become somewhat tacky, so take the time and store them properly…

Cleaning your Sex Toys

All sex toys must be cleaned carefully after and also BEFORE each use.

In general vibrator exteriors can be cleaned easily by wiping them with a damp, soapy washcloth or even baby wipes. With non waterproof toys, you must be more careful when caring for them, make sure your washcloth is only lightly damp and pay close attention to not get water into base of your vibrator when washing it! This will help prevent water from entering the internal compartment. If water does enter the internal compartment, you should wipe out what you can with a dry cloth and keep the base off the vibrator until it has a chance to air dry. Do not use the Vibrator before it has fully dried out!

Different sex toy materials require different care and cleaning methods, we have listed the general guidelines below:

Silicone: Clean with hot soapy water, of if they are not battery powered, you can even boil them. With the silicone toys, you can even put them in your dishwasher. Or you can use a toy cleaner…

Jelly: best to be cleaned with a damped wash cloth (one you use only for your sex toys) with no soap, no detergent, do not boil these toys either. Very good to use a sex toy cleaner on these toys. Never use alcohol on your jelly toys, as it will melt the material.

Latex: Soap and water method.

Cyberskin: Best to use cleaners especially made to clean them. You can also use just warm water and a cloth with rubbing alcohol on it

Metal: wipe it with cotton balls soaked in running alcohol, then use a damp wash cloth (one that you only us on your toys) to wipe away the alcohol.

UR3: Use mild soap and water, or a Cyberskin cleansing solution.

Plastic, acrylic, metal and glass: Use water and washcloth or cotton swabs to clean them.

Some toy materials have specific cleaning requirements … if they come with cleaning instructions read and follow them.

Can wash almost all your toys with a commercial cleanser specifically made for sex toys. You just spray it on, leave it sit for a few minutes and then wipe away. These cleaners are great for battery operated toys that cant be put under water to clean them. Do not dry off your sex toy with a fluffy towel!!! The fluff will leave lint, which can later act as sandpaper on your privates. Also the toy can grab any bacteria that may be in the towel. Always use a lint free towel or let it air dry. Always verify that your toys have no cracks or splits that bacteria can easily creep into, as toys wear this may happen. Replace these toys with new ones.

If you don’t keep your toys nice and clean they can harbor bacteria, that will make them unpleasantly smelly, as well as a source of potentially dangerous infection

If you take good care of your sex toys you can be confident that they will be clean and safe to use. They will last longer if you take good care of them and will be there nice and ready when you need them most!
